Question 2007 G35X. How to stream audio through bluetooth

I have a 2007 G35X sedan with bluetooth. I am able to connect to Bluetooth and make and receive calls. But I cannot play songs from my phone to via Bluetooth. I see that a lot of cars have this capability. How can I do that? Is my car capable of streaming songs through Bluetooth? Please advice.
Thanks
-Madhu

Your car is not capable of that. Bluetooth audio streaming (A2DP) is not supported by the factory bluetooth unit.

If your car has the RCAs, you can get one of these bluetooth receivers to connect to the RCA jacks. If your car just has the 30-pin connector, I don't know of anything that would work for you.

I bought a Sprint FIPO adapter to steam audio from my phone to the Bose system in my '08 G35XS.

It works great for streaming audio but they are very hard to find now. Here is a similar product that should work the same.

If equipped with the bluetooth adapter (which it should if it has the phone buttons on the steering wheel) yes. But it doesn't do bluetooth audio streaming, just phone calls.

Would the actual unit be located in the truck? Wondering if the previous owner removed it

Yes, it's in the trunk. By the spare in coupes, under the rear deck in sedans.

If you are using the bluetooth connected to the rca port, will the phone calls still come in via the factory bluetooth, or thru the aftermarket bluetooth?

It won't do both (play music and handle the call) at the same time, but should pause audio and switch to the car's bluetooth for the phonecall. Some phones have issues with it, but it should work fine.
