05 stock bose malfunction

I have an 05 sedan with the stock bose. The music plays for 2 seconds then shuts off after every time I start the car. All the controls work fine and it has power. Happens with cds and the radio. Any suggestions?

Amp gone is a good possibility.

Amp light is still on. Now it plays for about ten seconds. Could it be a loss ground!?

Amp light? There is no light on the factory amp.

Details on what you actually have in the car would probably help, but it sounds like your aftermarket amp is going into protect mode. The reason it's going into protect mode is difficult to say. If it does it when the volume on the radio is completely down, it could be ground, or the speakers could be failing. If it only does it when the volume is high, the speakers could be too low of ohms for the amp.

Not knowing how much of your system is aftermarket, and what parts they are, it's really difficult to help.

Just aftermarket amp. It's a pioneer that's been in for about 1 year, the stock amp went out. Now it plays the radio just fine, cds are only working for a split second. The radio works on any volume level. Assuming it's the actually bose unit itself now.

It's easy to rule out the bose headunit. Just get a 3.5mm to RCA y-cable and plug it into any other source and see if it cuts out at all.
