Forgive me, I'm doing my best to search and will continue to search, but I was hoping someone can give me some advice based on experience. I just bought a mint condition '07 G35 coupe and I love it. Except for the system.. I'm kind of a stereo enthusiast and I am so very disappointed in the sound of this car. I have premium sound with the Bose set. I honestly don't want to go wild with this system as I have spent thousands in the past on my previous vehicles. I would like to keep the stock radio and I guess I should say that I really like highs and with this car a little base will suffice. I may be able to even bare with the stock 6x9's depending on what it sounds like if I replace the rest of the speakers. I am not opposed to separates all though I want to stay as close to the stock setup and sizes as possible. I believe they call for an odd size if I'm correct. I'm hoping to not have to buy an amp to power the speakers if possible. I have to admit, my wife has a 2010 Lexus is250 and her stock system sounds really good. I don't mind spending a little $$ if I can get it to sound really clean. Anyone who knows stereo's should know what I mean by "clean". I'm hoping to not have to cut anything as I would like the air space to be as sealed as I can get it, although like III said I am open to advice to get what I want. I apologies for the long post and I should have spent more time searching but it's late some I'm hoping someone will throw my a bone here lol. I will continue to search but thanks in advance for any input, and will be appreciated. Thanks -Tim
** to be honest, I'm not even really sure what speakers or how many are actually stock in the car lol

I wish i could help out with ya question about keeping the stock radio. I just replaced my non-bose system.. I know u have 6.5 component speakers in the front (and I think the same size is in the rear on the side). From help from the guys on here.. U might want to replace the bose amp with an aftermarket amp and get a sub for the trunk. That will give you the bass you are looking for. Once you heard it, you will probably disconnect the 6x9 in the rear deck. There is a tread about replacing the amp and keeping the HU, but u going to spend money on the lil parts that are needed to connect to the aftermarket amp and sub. The link is below

Keeping the the stock bose headunit raises issues with the balanced audio signal it produces, but otherwise gives you a clean signal to work with so long as you get it before the bose amp. These cars are quite well-designed to upgrade the system and look stock:
Here's the upgraded 6.5's and tweeters in the stock locations:

0 gauge wire runs just fine along the passenger side to the trunk:

And a simple shelf and good enclosure make this the only visible part of the install:

Thanks for the reply guys. I'm mainly more concerned with the front and rear side speakers. What model did u go with? Also were they just separates or components and added additional tweeters? Thanks again.
