POP Radar Detection
I have a Bel RX65 Pro which I believe is technically equivalent to the Passport 8500 X50. It has POP detection. I'm curious if anyone has ever verified a POP encounter. In my area (Portland, OR) the police seem to use Ka. The interesting thing is occassionally POP will be detected and I never see law enforcement BUT several times I've noticed other cars with radar detectors and at least once I saw a guy adjusting his as if his was going off too. We could have both been getting the same signal but I have a theory that other detectors set off POP detection. Another data point: on the way home from work on Friday I was in front of a BMW. I could see his radar detector hanging below his rearview mirror and my POP was going crazy. This has happened more than once with other cars. Is it possible other radar detectors give a POP signal?

The only encounter I've had with POP I got busted with my V-1 and didn't have the POP upgrade.
Now that I have the POP upgrade I have had no POP false alarms on the V-1 but wonder if your detector is going to be false warning prone for POP detection becasue it's oversensitive. IF the other guy is getting it it may be a automatic door or something in the area.
V-1's are notoriously over sensitive so they become informational aids that require user analysis and not definitive detectors of the big bad wolf. That's why the arrows and the bogey counter are ****.
Oddly, my detector goes off whenever I am behind a Chevy Trailblazer or GMC equivalent. Anyone that can explain that I will give my injen intake to.

Excerpt: "Red neon, from stores and occasionally from brake lights of other cars (example: Chevy Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, Olds Bravada and Buick Rainier), can imitate the characteristics of speed laser. Solution: Move away from the source."
