Please Help!!!

So my day started out with replacing the front driver speaker that stopped working about 6 months ago. Ive been lazy so that's why i waited 6 months. I got the door off, got the speaker out, tested the wires to the new speaker, and nothing happened! So out of desperation i took off the headunit thinking that maybe one of the wires had become disconnected there, but i see no difference in any of the plugs. It is only the front driver's seat speaker that does not work. If you have any ideas, please help. Currently 1 door is dissassembled and the head unit is out and i really dont want to put it back together unfinished. Thanks!

Bose? non-bose? Did it work at all with different sources, or just CDs?

What do you mean by "tested the wires"?

Way too little information to be much help.

If it's non-bose check the continuity of the wires from the headunit harness to the wires at the doors. If that checks out good, test for signal at the headunit with different sources, if no signal there, headunit's probably bad, or it could just be the ribbon cable. Check this post for details on correcting the ribbon cable: https://g35driver.com/forums/audio-v...g-channel.html

Once you've determined if it's the headunit or the speaker, you'll know what to swap out next.

Its bose, and by testing the wires i mean i connected the wires that are in the car to the new speakers' positive and negative and nothing happened. And it's only the front driver's door that doesnt work, so could that really be the headunit if its only 1 speaker?

Since it's bose, by putting a new speaker in, it means you tested the new speaker, amp, wires, headunit and whatever source the radio was using. To really troubleshoot, you should be testing a single item at a time.

It could be the headunit, amp, or any bit of the wiring at this point. Get a multimeter and trace the audio signal from the headunit forward to determine where the problem is.
