Options for iphone connectivity
Options for iphone connectivity
Been lurking and reading for a few months and decided to sign up and ask since i'd love some input and previous users experiences...
I own a 2006 G35 coupe pretty much all stocked out.
Looking for options on how to connect my Iphone 4s to my stereo. Yes, i'm aware of FM transmitters (generally crappy quality).
I checked out the Pioneer app radio which seems to be one of the best options long term for me. Most people's issues seem to be with the phones network but i have plenty of my music available offline for instances like that. Especially for the price, it'd be pretty nice.
I'm also curious if there is any adapters out there so my phone can play through the Bluetooth connectivity, maybe a dumb question but never hurts to ask. Let me know if anyone has any ideas, i'm fine with the stock system and not tearing stuff out if i can get away with pretty decent quality.

The Pioneer 3400BH, 4400BH and 8400BH all do bluetooth connectivity for pandora and other streaming audio from the iPhone 4S.
Wired FM modulators are a fair option too, but not as good as a real wired aux connection directly to the headunit.
You can't do bluetooth to the factory headunit without a pair of adapters frankenstein'd together.

I'm aware of the SPH100 but i really just need something to make it easier to run my Iphone through my car speakers. Not trying to win any competitions here, and since i can pick up a DA02 for a little more than a FM transmitter i don't see why not.

The Appradio 1 (SPH-DA02) is as good as it ever was with the iPhone 4/4S, and at $150, I think it's a steal. If I had an iPhone, I'd probably get one now at that price, but I run Nokia and Android, so it's not as good an option.
If you plan on upgrading to the iPhone 5 while you own the unit, you may want to spend the extra cash or the Appradio 2 though.
Really, at $150, I'm really tempted to get one for my iPod and just tethering it to the Nokia for connectivity... but I like the voice control of Nav & iPod that the Z120 I've got right now does.

Lastly, if i'm going to do it any suggestions for the Rear deck? I like to listen to dem urban youths from time to time, so i like a little bass.
My suggestion is to pay the $300+ for JDM so you're not looking at something you'll regret every day.
If you really want bass, forget anything on the rear deck, it's not a solid surface at all. Get a real sub in the trunk and you'll be much happier.
