Thumbs up Help with Audio System

Hey guys, I am interested in upgrading my sound. I have been very, very happy with the upgrades I have but want to step it up a bit. Since I tried to upgrade my stock bose sound, I purchased better speakers for it. Now I have a new HU and am just tickled. I listen to all types of music 50cent, Skrillex, Clapton, Jazz, Bieber, Soundtracks etc. I like the bass you feel before you hear it and the crisp plucking of a guitar string that stings my ears when cranked up. Here is my current set up.

HU is Kenwood DDX418

Fronts Boston Acoustic Pro60-SE 2-way (250 watt peak power)

Amp- Polk Audio PA330 MOSFET 75 Watts x 2 (2 Ohm) continuous power, 100 x 2 (2 Ohm) dynamic power, or 200 x 1 (4 Ohm) continuous power

Alpine sub SWE 1043 -250 watt

I will soon be installing Steering control, Second Skin Pro, and a Kenwood CMOS 200 camera. I figured it would be a good time to upgrade something while I was in there. I have an extra Alpine sub (bought 2 on clearance for 30 bucks each)but I am still looking for a passenger 4080 type box. BTW JK about Beiber.

My budget is about $500

I appreciate any help/suggestions and thank Wrathernaught and Eggyhustles for the guidance they have already given me!

I would

Get more power to the front speakers

Put both subs in a better enclosure. Not a big fan of small sealed.

The ddx doesn't give u much in terms of eq, but another dd or even a processor is out of your budget.

Eggy! Thanks for stopping by. More power meaning a different sub or adding another sub? I don't know what a processor is but I am going to google it now. I am stuck with the little sub boxes because I often put my seat down to transport things. Thanks!

More power to the boston's.

They're somewhat power hungry & 75 x 2 isn't much.

It's expected, usually even normal to vastly exceed the long term power handling for a few miliseconds at a time in order to have a dynamic system.

Looking at some of the material I've looked at lately, a 50w rms system would need to be capable of a peak of 500w to remain true to the source material's dynamic peaks.

I've fixed plenty setup's by adding more power/getting the subs in a better enclosure.

Keep the subs you have now. They'd perform well in a good enclosure.

Can you recommend an amp that would have enough power for my Bostons and my sub/subs (if I add the second?)

Do you suggest I go with 2 amps?

yeah, 2 amps would be better.

1 4 channel that can be bridged down to 2 channels for the front speakers & a 1 channel for the subs.

You can toss these amps under the seats

for the sub
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vibe-lite-bo...item27cfc2d971

For the speakers
http://www.ebay.com/itm/SOUNDSTREAM-...item460485824c

Someone will grab that vibe audio amp soon(they're very sort after)..so i'd grab that asap if i were you.

Just bought it. You haven't steered me wrong so far but there goes almost half my budget!

The soundstream is $83.

Still have enough left over for a custom designed enclosure.

Is all this extra equipment going to mess with my car battery? I sometimes eat lunch in my car and watch movies or sometimes I go watch a movie at the drive in using my car stereo.

At full tilt, it'll pull about 140 amps.

You should eventually upgrade the battery.

I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the other amp. For the price, I hope to hear a noticeable difference. Thanks again Eggy!
