Which amp to you reccomend for focal components and possible sub
Which amp to you reccomend for focal components and possible sub
HI,
This build is actualy going in my fx50, but I think I may do a similar build to my g.
Im going to get 2 pairs of
Focal 165a1 compent speakers ( the fx has room for tweets in the rear)
and right now possily just power the stock bose sub with the amp, or put a id8/id10 in the rear( 50/50, depending on current car budgest at the time)
The two amps that I was considering is
Alpine MRX-V70
5-Channel X-Power Series Car Amplifier
RMS Power Rating:
4 ohms: 60 watts x 4 chan. + 250 watts x 1 chan.
2 ohms: 90 watts x 4 chan. + 350 watts x 1 chan.
Bridged, 4 ohms: 180 watts x 2 chan.
And
Alpine PDX-V9
5-Channel PDX Series Car Amplifier
RMS Power Rating:
4 ohms: 100 watts x 4 chan. + 500 watts x 1 chan.
2 ohms: 100 watts x 4 chan. + 500 watts x 1 chan.
Bridged, 4 ohms: 200 watts x 2 chan.
My question is, since the Focals are 60 watts rms, would the PDXv9 be too much power for them?
second question is, if it isnt over powering the focals, is it worth the extra money to spring for the amp?(v9)
I think the v70 would be enough power for my needs, as It fit the requiresments and I dont need a whole low of power for the sub as I am going more for the sq, not sure much to bump the block.
The v9 gives me more flexiablity for upgrades later, and it is a better amp, but I dont believe I would spend the money to upgrade again.
also the amp is about 200 dollars difference, that money could go to other mods I want to do on the fx or g35.
Thanks!
Thanks let me know if you think i
