03 G35 Sedan Non Bose - AMP / Subwoofer Install Help Needed!

Ok, good morning! So i see a plethora of info for the Bose system, but not a whole lot going on for us non Bose guys. My cassette tape door says Bose, but i have no sub in the rear deck, not to mention my audio sounds like complete GARBAGE. not sure what is up, but regardless, i picked up the following:

2 pairs of Infinity Kappa 62.9i 6-1/5 for front and rear doors
2 Pioneer 10" subs + box
Kenwood 2 channel amp

no 4 channel for now.

So my question is, whats the best way to hook up the amp for the subwoofer, and ultimately a 4 channel for the doors. All i really need is the information on what wires to tap, getting there, i can handle. Unless you have some full instructioins that would also be great!

thanks guys

You need an sni-35 from your local audio shop. It is commonly called an LOC, Line Out Converter or hi to low level adapter. It changes the signal type from a speaker line from hi level to low level, giving you a way to give signal to your sub amp. The part will come with install instructions when you get it.

What kenwood amp did you get? If it is a kac series, take it back

You can tap the rear speakers either behine the radio or at the rear speaker. I always do it behind the radio so if you ever put in a better radio the work is already done.

Kind of odd that they'd put the bose trim in. Maybe it sounds like crap because somebody removed the subwoofer?

Check for the amp under the rear deck.

Best place I know of to tap the signal for non-bose is in the pillar between the front and rear doors. Just remove the trim and the wires are fairly easy to access.

Does anyone know what the wire colors are for speakers in the B-pillar as Wrather is referring to? '06 sedan, non-Bose.

Trying to find a place to tap in a LOC and would prefer an easier option than pulling out the radio. Having the tap location be close to the trunk is a bonus. Thanks in advance!

This is what I've found, not sure if it is accurate:
Right Rear (+) = Blue
Right Rear (-) = Pink
Left Rear (+) = Teal ??
Left Rear (-) = Purple

Remote Turn On Lead = Blue/Silver Stripe

If there's a remote turn-on lead mentioned, those wire colors are not for a non-bose sedan.

You're best using the cigarette lighter power wire for an amp signal, since non-bose vehicles don't have an amp signal wire.
If you're only doing a single sub, just pull from the passenger side pillar, since you'll be pulling trim in that area to run the power wire.

Wire colors at that pillar are Orange (+) and Black/Purple (-). If you're doing two subs, the colors are the same at the other pillar.

Wrather, you are all over the A/V sub! This is exactly what I was looking for, thanks!

Yes - just a single sub (Basslink from my old car). I'll have to experiment to see if it is happy with a single speaker input, otherwise I'll tap from the other pillar as well. Having the colors in hand will save me a ton of time.

I have a meter with some piercing probes so my plan was to look for a remote on the satellite connector in the trunk. Cig lighter is always a tried and true fallback option, thanks for bringing that up.

Great idea (wish I'd have considered that one as a source) - switched power is the light green wire on the satellite connector. Looks like it's the same for all years with the satellite harness.

Pac sni-35

If I understand correctly, when adding 1 subwoofer and amp to a non-bose base G35 sedan [2006], I can tap the right rear door speakers at their inputs, Orange and Black / Purple?

Do I need to tap the left rear door speakers for the line out converter or just leave those open? I guess the left rear door speaker inputs are Light Green and Black Yellow.
Are those in the same harness on this right side? There are appear to be 2-3 green wires that could be LG [light green].

Have people found the need to ground the line out converter? I know the PAC SNI-35 comes with a ground wire.

Side Note - Just passed 160k and I'm adding a subwoofer and 4 component speakers haha. I'll never give up on this car.

You can use either door's speaker wires to feed a subwoofer, you generally don't need both, since most music isn't going to master the bass frequencies to a single side. You'll have to pull the door panel to be sure about the green, since photos are going to show shades differently based on lighting.

If there's a ground, I'd use it.
