ok, that's it. Remember this was NYCG35's. I don't want to take credit for his work.

i did cut out some comments that weren't useful.

if you want the whole thing together from the old site, send me a pm and i'll send you the file on AIM or something, it's only like 5MB.

oh and here's pics of my sub job

I'm sorry if I missed this in the detailed instructions!

Would someone please let me know how the power wire was run from the battery to the amp? Just wondering if there is a hole through the firewall that would work rather than drilling a new one.

Now that I think about it, did anyone draw power from someplace else?

I'm a new g35 6mt coupe owner. Just picked it up the Lakeshore slate yesterday and the bose audio is weaker than the infinity audio that came in my old '00 dakota.

Thanks in advance! Great forum!

I may have answered my own question. Can the power to a second aftermarket (not so huge amp) be drawn from the same power that is provided to the Bose Amp? At the same time?

Thanks.

Power is fed through the stock grommet then down to the passenger kick panel then under the carpet

Seal the hole you cut with silicone

I tapped into the input to the bose amp in the trunk, since it's right there where you need it. (note: the input, not the amplified outputs to the speakers) Splice into the left and right inputs and sent that right to the new sub amp's inputs. The alpine amp I have has high and low inputs so it worked fine. If your amp doesn't, you'll need a line out converter (LOC). A lot of people use them anyway, but I didn't need it.

And if you want the full copy of the old DIY, PM me an AIM screen name or an email address that can accept a just over 4 MB file.

Just resurrecting this topic with a major question. Are there any passthroughs in the firewall that the factory made and didn't use?

I ask because I am putting a 1/0 ga power wire. Do you think it would fit in that grommet that was mentioned initially for the 4ga?

I'm not sure if there is, but you can always just drill a hole in an empty spot and use a firewall grommet to pass the wire through. Phoenix gold makes this:
