Radio working SOMETIMES

I have a 2003 G sedan.

My radio works when it wants too. Sometimes it'll work for a full day, other times it'll work for like 5 mins

While it's on tunner and its not working, it makes a weird staticky noise.

It usually works more if I bang on the radio a few times. Could it be a loose wire? Do I need to replace the radio? I like the factory look and really don't wanna go aftermarket!

Any suggestions on what it could be?

Inb4 Wrathernaut on an electronics issue!

Hey, our stereo head units seem to be hit and miss with problems. Once the failures start more are to come behind, time for you to upgrade to DDin aftermarket stereo! Sound quality is said to increase with quality aftermarket stereos.

Check through this thread:

But bottom line is exactly what Urbanengineer said - use this as an excuse to upgrade, because money put into the stock headunit is money wasted.
