Aftermarket Nav

Has anyone installed the Pioneer avic n1 (or N2) in the G35? Where does the unit install? Do I have to remove the radio or does it go in the slot where the OEM nav installs.

Also what is the best portable after market unit you have seen for the G35?

you need to do the double din conversion. The pioneer has a built in navi but you still need to mount the brain somewhere. Most people mount it in the trunk. u could make something custom to put it where the oem navi would go... that little cubby thing.

from my personal experience and what i have heard from most people, they put the brain unit underneath the passenger seat..

in regards to putting the avic-n1 in the OEM navi position, it has been done, but it was rather pricey.. i remember being quoted about $3000 for custom install (including the avic-n1)..
