Head unit question

Sorry if this is posted in the wrong place. Recently bought an 03 g35 and its awesome... However the Bose CD player gives an error and will rarely play anything at all. So my question is does it require a certain aftermarket head unit or will any work and how hard is the installation can I trust like a best buy to do the work right? Thanks

you can also get the OEM unit refurbed, which is what I chose to do because I didn't want to deal with the metra kit. i found a refurb auction on ebay for like 150 bucks from a company called radiomedics or something like that. works ok, but its now a refurb and the unit tends to be tempermental at times. YMMV

they'll need to take about 1/2 the dashboard apart to access the radio. also keep in mind that the heat/ac is controlled by the radio, the HVAC controller board is attached to the radio, there would need to be some sort of after market harness to make the heat/ac work in a replacement scenario. my experience with BB is ( which I did) use a professional audio installer you don't want the schmuks at BB to damage the HVAC controls.
