Double din filler trim

Tonight I put an alpine ine s920hd into my car with the JDM double din trim from nissan... But I don't have a trim filler plate, so there's gaps around the deck. I tried to sand down the alpine filler one to fit but it resulted in a ugly mess.

What have others used as fillers and what is available? I'll take pictures tomorrow of the gap and ugly filler. Would love to make it nice and clean, can't stand imperfections!

From the shopping list at the top of this forum:
Scosche universal double din trim ring (to fill the gap around the radio when using the JDM trim)

Easily cut with a razor, fine-toothed hacksaw, or heavy duty scissors.
