JDM Double Din Question

I see there are several kits available for the JDM Double din conversion. The question is I have a car with a single AC and these kits have jumped in price. I see there are kits for a dual AC controller and they are about $140 cheaper, would a dual AC work with a Single AC car? Would this cause any issues?

G35 sedan w/ too much money in mods
You're probably talking about 2 different kits, the JDM and the Metra. I doubt the JDM dual is that much cheaper than a JDM single.

Actually I have seen the 2006 JDM double for a single AC w/o Nav going for $485 and the one with a Dual AC w/o Nav going for $345.

Where have you seen them for $250?

Have you looked in G35's vendor section? Look there under audio video electronics for sale area. Also you can get one use for even cheaper.

I've also seen the JDM Double Din Kit Single AC jump in price on Grubbs Infiniti's Ebay page for some reason, I guess he's running low on stock? . Luckily I found a used one on the marketplace a week ago.

The same member I bought the JDM double din from has another Single AC one for sale.

Pretty much everybody's out of stock, that would easily account for higher prices.

Using a dual in a single won't hurt anything. The button just won't do anything. You can easily swap out the non-dual "button" and put it in place of the dual button if it bothers you.

Hey guy!!! guess I was wrong. We did in fact get 4 inches of snow in Huntsville. From what I've seen today Savannah did not get snow!!! I'm hunkered down here did not go out to the garage today...yes it is part of the house. Do you know if Urbanegineer is a real person or from the lego movie!! The fact that the parts for the G35 are becoming hard to find is a great thing for we G35 owners.

Downloading that movie and watching it on the way to school now thanks to you -.-

These Double Din kits were produced as G-35s were popular, now it's not even made so big surprise there...!

Remember, they were made for Skyline GT350s in Japan, and cars in Japan typically have a shorter life due to the tax laws on aging cars. Since the cars those parts are produced for are becoming more and more rare in that country, the "real" market for them is going down. Additionally, even the last of them (07 coupes) that could require the part to be replaced under warranty is probably gone as well.

So it may just be that they'll whip out another batch of them, since they are being purchased in the US and other countries, or it may also be that Japan's already through their GT350 phase and there won't be any more made.
