Another Dumb Question!!
Another Dumb Question!!
I've already started a couple of threads. Background...installed a remanufactured head unit. Plays fine as long as I keep balance to front speakers. If I change balance to rears (there are four speakers in the back) two shelf, two rear side panels. Pick up a lot of static. Now the worst part...turn off the radio and receive heavy static. Solved that problem, unplugged the amp. Now no sound at all (duh)!!
OK...here is the question...is there any reason I could not replace the current amp with something like a 2007 Coupe amp. I don't know for sure but what would be the latest head unit I could use and
keep the same faceplate.
I know that many off you think...I'm nuts...but, I'm convinced that pristine 2003 (stock) G's with less than 24,000 miles could be worth something one of these day's. I see so many G's turning up wrecked or badly modified.
Now as a point of reference. I own a 1990 Miata I bought in 1989. At first I thought it might gain in value. It probably has in fact. I paid $16,700 for the car...have owned it for 25 years and it's worth about $5.5K (74,000 miles). Mazda has built and sold 9 million Miata's. I don't know the total number of G35 Coupe's built. They were however expensive when new my (2002 purchased) 2003 model was $37,415. I can currently put you in a new 2014 Mercedes Benz CLA AMG for about $44K.
