Need advice for aftermarket speakers on 07 Coupe
Hey guys,
After installing my Alpine INE-920HD double din in my 2007 Infiniti G35 Coupe, I am simply not satisfied with the Bose speakers whatsoever. Upon Wrathernaut's recommendation of installing the PAC ROEM-NIS2 to retain my Bose amp/bass/speakers, I am simply not satisfied. My speakers would be distorted around volume level 18 out of 35 on my Alpine headunit.
So I assume aftermarket speakers and subwoofer is the way to go now, right?
Now here are my questions as I am not an expert at audio installation at all.
(I work at Best Buy by the way so I'm going to have them install it).
1.) Is it worth upgrading all my speakers? I hear people just do the front and add a sub in the trunk.
2.) I listen to a lot of rock so which speakers are the best? I know I'll probably get a lot of answers to this.
Thanks for the suggestions.

Rock is not too heavy into the bass from what I recall, so you don't need a massive setup.
You can do two component speakers for your front and forget about the back (they output too much sound anyways). Add a sub box and good quality sub to the trunk and have a great setup! The more I listen to my music by front soundstage the more it makes me want to change out those speakers. Only issue is that I need a new amp and 2 new components

Best buy employees get whack deals on stuff they sell right? Listen to the Polk speakers and see if you like them...
Also, music is mastered for stereo (left right), not surround (lf, rf, rr, LR,)

Yeah, our accommodations are pretty nice. Best is through Kicker. Are they a good brand?
That is what I will probably do. Do front speakers and add a sub in the trunk.
So let me lay out some things real quick -
1.) The front speakers are 6 1/2 with a 1 inch tweeter, right?
a.) Is this a good example right here?
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/6-1-2-co...67#tab=reviews ... I may get it.
2.) I know an amp is required. Can I just use one amp for the speakers and the subwoofer? What type of amps should I look into?
3.) Is there a specific subwoofer I should look into? I want something that won't hog up a lot of trunk space.

Speaker should be 6.5" with 1" standard yea, rears are 6x9.
Now forgive me if I'm wrong, but I don't know of any 3 channel amps.... So people must run a four channel with 2 for the fronts and the 2 rears bridged for the sub... So look for something that meets your power requirements.
Those pioneers seem way too expensive, you can get JL's component speakers at the same level (c2-c3) for around the same price.
As for sub, your choice there. Just look up the 4080 box for the ultimate trunk fitment. This box is a custom made fiberglass box they fits in the trunk side pocket area... See google. It's about 200 for the box alone. Sub is your choice, but coupe we are limited to 10" really. Another option for the box in the same area is the Zenclosure box (see google).
I run a JL Audio 10w6v2 @ 500 RMS and it hits way harder then I ever plan on running it

It sounds pretty good and I listen to everything from rock to rap. The stock speakers/tweeters are cheap paper material and you'll be disappointed when you take them out....I know I was!
I get those Pioneers for a really good price though!
Okay, so here is where I stand right now ...
1.) I know which front speakers that I will be getting installed.
2.) The AMP is still the question. I think I'm going to pass on the sub for now and just do the front two speakers alone first. Should I buy a two or four channel amp? I hear 3 is hard to come by. I assume 4 is safe so when I install subs in the future, I don't have to buy a new amp? 5 channel would mean doing the rears which I won't.
3.) What will happen with the rear speakers? I assume it'll still be powered through the Bose amp since any aftermarket ones would blow them out.
Thanks fellas!

The Pioneer TSDs are the way to go, I've wokred closely with the Kicker products for many years and the component mids are good but the tweeters are ear piercing. If you only want to do one amp do what urbanengineer said and run your components off two channels and run your sub off the other two, just make sure that your sub/amp combo are compatable. Your installers should be able to pair a 4ch with an appropriate sub so go make friends with them.
If you listen to rock/metal I'd say the best option Best Buy has is the Alpine type E 10". Doesn't require much air space as far as the box is concerned and it's very responsive. Won't hit the extreme lows but defenitely good for rock/metal.
I need advice on how I should be powering my rear sides and rear deck speakers tomorrow?
For the time being, I'm just going to install those Pioneer front component speakers with a Polk 4 channel/600W amp.
I'll wait for the subs until I find a 4080 box.
FYI: I already have an Alpine INE-920HD (Double Din) installed.

I would suggest swapping the rears also, even if you're doing a sub. They aren't just for bass, more fill and for the rear passengers than anything.
