- (1) JL 12" W6
- (1) JL 500/1 Amp
- (1) JL (Which ever one to amp the speakers)
- Set MB Quartz Premium Addition For under $800
That's pretty much my setup, except I'm running 2 10W3's. If you want, I can stop by and let you hear my system. Maybe it'll help you make your decision?? I live in Baldwin Park. That's where your shop is right?

Its really comes down to what you want. I don't know what you want so I can't say what you need to go with. But what you may want to do is go and listen to the difference of the 2 subwoofers.

Hey CLS2G35,

Well i want a system the hits hard but clean. If i go ahead and do this whole sound system thing i want to make sure i am getting good stuff. Right now i will be using stock head unit until i can save up some more for a new HU.

Like I said in one of my earlier posts on this thread I don't know what you define as hits hard and clean. So best thing to do is go to a JL Audio retailer and listen to both woofers using the same amp. It doesn't have to be exactly the same amp you're going to use. As long as in the comparison you're using the same amp.

Jim,
If you want something that hits hard and clean. Go for the W7, 1 w7 should do the job but, if you want a harder bass, drop 2 of those badboys(W7) and push them with the JL Audio 1000/1, guarantee your neighbors will call the cops on you :-) .Yes! you are definitely getting the good stuff. BTW, you heard Ed's system right? What do you think of the bass? Do you like how his bass hits? if so, you just need 1 10" W7...Goodluck!

Fxg35rida --- Another Good Post! You Know Your Shiz...one W7 Is Better Than My 2 W6's . Ive Heard Both. Do You Listen To Hip Hop? If You Do, I Think The W6's Travel Too Far (excursion) To Acheive The W7's Sound. They Sound Similar When You Hear Short Pulses Of Deep Bass. But The W7 Can Carry That Deepness For Longer Notes--cleener. Youll Find Yourself Turning Up Vol. On W6's To Get The W7 Sound---it Does A Decent Job (imitating)except On Long Deep Bass...imo.

Skip The Head Unit, Add An Equalizer And An Amp To Power New Speakers...this Is How You Keep Theives Away From Your System. If You Wanna Save Time In The Future- Just Go For God Of Cpu 's In Dash Touchscreen Housing For "carputer"-- To Run A 7" Touchscreen Interface That Stows In Your Unused Navigation Cubby, Hard Drive, Gps Nav. , Cd/dvd Burner, Wifi Internet Card, Etc....you Know Youll Want It! I Got The Pioneer Avic-n1 Last Year And Now Im Making My Carputer Setup That Replaces This $2000 Pioneer Unit.all For Under A G! Wifi Is Already Free To Use In San Diego , San Francisco, Etc...look Into It!

Ebay Is A Good Place To Start. Look For Mini-itx Motherboards(up To 1.2 Ghz Now)...17cmx17cm! They Are Tiny. Next, Find A Remote Power Delay Source So That The Carputer Shuts Down/powers Up With Car.a Hard Drive, Ram Memory And A Cd/dvd Drive(burners Are Fun Too!). Now You Have Choices---wifi Card For Free Wireless Internet Access, Gps Nav. Antenna With Navigation Software, Or Even Bluetoothe To Wirelessly Communicate With Other Components(other Peoples' Laptops, pdas, Cell Phones,etc.).a Big Mobile File Sharing Orgy!!! But Make Sure You Top It All Off With God Of Cpu's Xenarc Screen And Custom Nav. Cubby Housing To Have A Stealth Setup.carputers Are The Next Big Thing--lexus Will Have A Factory Hard Drive In Their Vehicles Soon. This Aftermarket Solution, Though, Is More Upgradeable In The Future.

Or You Could Find A Laptop With A Broken Screen And Just Stick It Under A Seat...you Only Need Its Screen If You Plan On Unplugging It And Using It Out Of Your Car....but Its Ussually Easier Than Putting Together A System From Scratch...not Upgradeable Though! Still Need That Delayed Power Source Though...im Trying To Find A Laptop Small Enough To Fit My Uper Glove Box---ill Plug And Play Anytime I Want....not Anchored To The Car, Can Take It To Class Then Plug It Right Back In To My Dash! Oh, The Idea Makes Me All Hott And Bova'd.
