I mounted the Garmin with a Steelie Phone Car Mount. Its basically two magnets with 3M tape at the ends.

I mounted one part of the magnet on the back of the GPS and the other on the cubby, that way when I take sharp turns the Garmin stays in place.

Then I drilled a hole in the bottom of the cubby to fit the Garmin cable and ran it all the way through the center console to the armrest.

I cut out a part of the armrest compartment to fit all the wires through for my Pioneer double din and also the Garmin plug. Clean and simple

@Juang20 very cool....thanks for the pics. Definitely a hot mod; I like that Steelie mount as well as the idea of running your USB through to the armrest. Gives me some ideas for my own G.

For running to the center armrest, if you unscrew the tub from below, you can run wires without drilling, at least in the 05+, there's a fairly good gap in there, but you can't get the plugs through it without unscrewing the tub. It's how I ran the wires for Tr0uble a few months back. Highly recommended.

I wish I would have taken pictures of that routing path, but it was getting late - full headunit, speakers, and amp install in one afternoon/evening.

So I recieved everything to setup the system . I seen a few aftermarket license plate cameras on eBay for the avh-4000nex . I'm on my mobile so I can't link it . Do you think it's worth getting one of these or any chance pioneer makes one themselves ? If not I can just get started with putting this together .

Pioneer does make one. They still have the ND-BC5 and the ND-BC6. The 6 being the newer one of the two but seem to have little differences. I have the BC6 and camera quality is okay, nothing spectacular. Colors can sometimes appear a little greenish at times but night visibility is pretty good.

As for the camera license plates, I personally never had experience with it but some seem to be happy with it. Also would be cheaper than the Pioneer.

Pioneer's cameras are crazy expensive. Just go with a cheaper one, the type depending on where you're putting the camera. Some of the smaller ones can be fitted to look through an enlarged license plate hole, while others are better for putting above the license plate, or other places, depending on your creativity and skills.

Happy to say I got it mostly set up. Ran out of light so called it a day . My only real issue is the steering wheel controls . No idea where to link them . If I'm looking at this chart correctly do I link them to the red wire which is constant power ? And green the rear speakers ? I have to go back in and connect the USB and mic so what do I do.

I also didn't hook up the parking brake but I actually didn't look for that . Hard to see in the dark.

You connect the power for the ASWC-1 to the switched power that the rest of the radio uses (red on the new radio's harness). The steering wheel control connections go to the M39 harness - the one shown here is from a vehicle with the navigation system, so yours will have less wires to confuse things.

Alright just to be sure I have to T tap into this harness and it comes from the car itself not the radio .

Also this m39 harness does not connect to anything right ? Not the radio or the PAC ?

No, it does not connect to the radio or PAC. It's one of the harnesses that plugged into the factory radio. A few aftermarket navigation units will connect to the speed signal wire (white with green stripe) but generally just the three steering wheel control wires get soldered to the ASWC-1.
