double din kit

Hey guys I had a quick question . I know the double din Dash is hard to come by and someone said i can purchase a metra one. i have a link to an ebay one just wondering if this is the correct one for my 03 sedan. It says g35 coupe towards the bottom but without the nav shouldn't they be the same ? Thank you for your help in advance .

Yes, that will work, but it's cheaper on Amazon. http://amzn.to/VTGPrk

Metra is the company that makes the only aftermarket climate controls and radio trim, and they use pushbuttons instead of a rotating ****. It's either pay for the nissan-made JDM DDin trim + climate controls or get the metra.

I don't think you'll be happy with the metra. I wouldn't be. I'm currently seeking a JDM kit because the metra just looks too cheap, I can't stand it. I can't be rolling with a Fisher-Price dash kit.

Agreed... I would honestly wait to pick up the JDM double din. Much better quality.

I've only had experience with the Pioneer units but I'm sure you can find some good info in the audio section of the forums

Don't buy a nav unit by any means. Your smartphone's navigation is worlds better and free, rather than adding on $300+ to the cost of the unit. Even if you buy an older unlocked smartphone without any phone plan just for connecting to the headunit for navigation and wifi-tether it to your current phone, it'll be cheaper and better.

I'd go with the Pioneer 4000NEX or Parrot Asteroid Smart. The Smart pretty much just needs your phone to tether it via wifi to do all the cool stuff, while the 4000NEX relies on compatible smartphones to go into "app mode" and mirror stuff, but also supports MirrorLink if you have a compatible smartphone (Samsung GS3 is the best supported that I know of).

@Wrathernaut never checked out the 2014 Pioneer models...the 4000NEX looks pretty good. Hopefully it gets the Android update in addition to the carplay. Would make it really interesting.

I just recently got a 4000NEX installed about 2 weeks ago. Has everything I wanted and pretty happy with it. Waiting for Apple carplay support to roll out and that will fill my Navigation needs which I don't really need to use all that much anyways.

As for Android, they have something to go against Apple carplay but there isn't too many details about it yet. I don't know if they will be supporting Pioneer or Alpine also (Apple carplay is confirmed to be on these units).

Here's just on link to some Android/Google info. There is more out there though.
