The AVH-X5700BHS and 3700 are the new models, -600s are last year's. The feature list for the -700s have removed mention of AppRadio mode, which appears to have been abandoned in favor of MirrorLink. MirrorLink is all-around better - IF - your phone supports it. Otherwise, the loss of appradio mode, which expanded the supported phones beyond mirrorlink compatible units may be a dealbreaker. The -600s did BOTH, -700s are only MirrorLink. Bottom line - check compatibility lists for your phone.

700s have the newer interface, and added a few nice features:
  • HPF 1.6 / Bluetooth Wideband Speech - basically, higher quality audio when the wireless provider(s) at both ends of the conversation support it.
  • Music Library Browsing over Bluetooth (AVRCP 1.4) - Browse your device's iTunes library or music folders directly from the headunit. Not a big deal unless you store a lot of music on your phone. Since I stream pandora and such with my phone, this one doesn't really matter.
  • 5700 and 3700 have dual camera inputs.

So, if you're doing streaming audio vs. stored audio, do not have support for the wideband speech, and don't intend on putting a second camera input, there's not a huge difference. If the price is close though, I'd definitely go with the new ones.

Ur the freaking best!!!!!

I wanted the 5700 but it's about 100-150 more than the 5600. I like the buttons and bigger screen but realistically I will neverrrrr watch a movie in there but the button layout seems better on the 5600 vs 3600.

Anyway, thank u so much for your help.

I've got a 6 inch in one car and 7 inch in another. There's no functional difference between the two screens, but I prefer the volume **** on the 6 inch screen to the buttons on the 7 incher.
