Disconnected head unit, A/C still stuck on auto

Hi guys, I have an 03 sedan with the common no HVAC controls working and stuck on 75 degrees. I completely removed the head unit from the car and it's still stuck on the same setting, 75 degrees auto a/c. Does the car keep the last setting of the A/C stored in memory? Will buying a metra kit solve this issue?

mine is stuck like that too. only remedy is a DD kit. metra wont give you the dual control if you have it, neither will the oem dd kit but you can solder in the dual button onto it

I don't mind the dual climate control not working. I just need my damn HVAC controls to work for winter haha. Will the metra atleast restore my HVAC controls?
