2005 G35 sport coupe. factory satellite radio.

CD changer just crapped out on me, so now I'm getting a aftermarket double din.

Since my car is factory equipped with satellite radio, can I just use the factory antenna?

I think the factory tuner is in trunk, correct me if I'm wrong, Do I swap the factory tuner that's in trunk and then need a extremely long cable to get all the way to my new double din?

I've searched and other vehicles had the tuner in the front dash so they just unhooked it and replaced it with the V200 tuner, but if the g35 tuner is in trunk I'm not sure what to do.

Here's what I've got picked so far. Is this all I need?

It's a different connector for the stock satellite radio antenna, so you'll at least have to modify it (and greatly extend the wires) if you want to keep the stock antenna.

You're still missing the fm/am antenna adapter, and trim kit from your photographic list.

So I'd have to swap the tuner in the trunk with the V200 and then run new wire all the way to the dash?

no way to use old tuner, or old wire going to bose unit?

I'm starting to think I may just ditch the idea of satellite radio... I don't listen to it much anyway.

I've got the trim kit

what FM AM adapter do I need?

Yeah, swap tuners and extend the wires from the V200 to the new radio.

F a bunch of this. Just sent everything back FedEx.

I was already on the fence about doing this since I hate aftermarket, but after seeing there's a giant gap and learning I'll have to manufacture my own trim plate, as well as mount the unit from scratch using the oem bracket. F That. Pay $300+ for oem trim and $400 for double din only to have it look like poop, no thanks.

Set properly, you don't even notice the gap. Especially when viewed from the normal driving/passenger position.

Is yours a 7" DD? The one he posted looked like a 6.1".. Yours fits perfectly but will the 6.1" need trimming? It does look like a big gap and I just bought the JDM DD kit a couple of days ago so I do want to know because I'm still looking at several DD to pick from.

I've got a 6.1" screen and a 7" screen one in each of my G35s. The screen size isn't important, it's the actual dimensions of the unit. Motorized needs more space at the bottom, generally, it's all on where you mount it.
