Remote Start
Good afternoon all !
I got an AutoCommand remote start system a year or two as a birthday gift and never got around to having it installed.
Now that temperatures are dropping below 20 degrees and I actually have to drive every day in the winter i think its time to get this installed.
I'm looking around at having different palces install this because I think the installation may be too much for me. I was quoted 325 by one place, 225 by another, and bestbuy has it for 150...
Now i really don't trust best buy technicians, because i dont think they need any real schooling to work on your car.
also, the place with the 225 install, will install a basic Code Alarm (brand) remote start for 299 (their hardware).
any thoughts on this?
Is it easy enough for me to do it myself? i did my full audio system myself
Should I use the auto comman? should i sell the auto command, buy a new one and install it myself?
too many options. could use some advice/opinions!

Best buy have certified technicians and they are awesome about trying to fix the problem again and again if they do a bad install..! Don't discount them.
All of the offers you have received are fair prices, BB might just need you to buy all the parts ahead of time.
I am going to try and install a whole system myself. I don't know which to go with myself. Just remember, if you install it yourself you have to go back and fix it yourself later
.
Only other option seems to be the Viper. Wrathernaut will chime in later.

i'm gonna take a look at the instructions when i get home. its really just splicing into wires by under the steering wheel right? and then zip tie'ing the unit into that area somewhere?
i feel like installing a stereo cant be much more difficult than this
