Need help with isimple AUX/IPod gateway

Hey guys, bought a g35 coupe 2006 recently and the owner had the this isimple kit installed. Here is a link to same one I have.
Amazon Amazon

The original owner who installed it always used the iPod cable cause he still has an iPhone 4s, I've been trying to play music through the Aux cord but nothing, when I cycle through the radio button, it goes to Auxiliary 1 and doesn't play any music and after about ten seconds auto switches to xm1 ch-001 and if I press radio button again I get Auxiliary 1 that auto switches to xm1 ch002 after about ten seconds but no sound from the Aux cable.

Is there something I'm missing? Maybe cable is bad? Can I use a standard iphone port to lightning converter and just use iPod mode?

The guy who installed it ran the cables through the center console.

From the manual: http://www.pac-audio.com/PacProductD...ons_100209.pdf

Selecting AUX Input
Entering Mode Select Menu (2005-2007)
Press the “RADIO” button a few times until “SAT” is displayed on the screen.
Immediately press the “TUNE ▲” button to scroll through the available sources. Once
“AUX” is displayed, press the “SEEK ▼” button to select it.

Hmm, when i cycle through all the options on radio button, i get AM, FM1, FM2, and Auxiliary 1, and again auxiliary 1. I don't ever see a SAT

But ill try tomorrow and report back if I have any success or not, the fm1 radio sucks on g35 because G35 has a weak antenna which results in grainy background noise.
