Arghhhh I just realized the sub I have is the 4 ohm version, didn't even realize they made a 4ohm, does this change anything with the amp I need?

I've got about 150w going per side through the included crossover, and am happy with the results. You can always go for a bi-amp setup and use an external signal processor... but that's getting into the complicated side for people who really want to control every aspect of their system. For the other 99% of the population, you'll be happy with the "stock" setup.

You only need about 25% coverage, so even 3 tiles per door is enough. another 5-6 for coverage in the trunk and rear deck.

Some awesome advice here Wrathernaut, thanks!

I'm about to start upgrading my sound system and I wanted to do something similar that you have suggested in this thread. I was going to go with the the Image Dynamics front components and a JL JX360/2 amp. I also want to do the sub + mono amp, but that's down the line when I get more cash money. My question is if I should keep the rears and 6x9s working between the time frame of installing the components and when I finally get around to getting a sub?

The Image Dynamics probably have more low-end than the stock 6x9's, but the overall sound *might* be better if you run a high-pass filter on the Image Dynamics so they can focus on the higher end of the audio spectrum while the 6x9's keep doing the low end they normally do. I'd not use the rear full-range speakers though.

I'd like to know what your system sounds like, Weather. All super fine tuned and what not.

I'm not an audiophile or into competition audio, so it's probably less impressive than you'd think. I just know what you should focus on first.

I'd like to pick up an JBL MS-8 and go to town tuning it, but I know that I listen to the car while driving, but since I haven't done some layers of mass-loaded vinyl and closed-cell foam throughout the car, I couldn't hear the improvement over some minor tweaking of the EQ.
