Double Din- Coin Holder

Hey guys so I have a quick question.

I have factory nav in my 03 g35 sedan. I went and put my double din in. I knew that I'd have to get the coin holder (pocket) in order to replace the nav.

However, I decided to just take it in as is at the time of the appt and see what he has to say. Well, he didn't say that it was necessary until he had opened everything up.

Now there's a big hole there (he used slmething to cover it).

I was wondering if there is a piece of plastic that infiniti sells that I can sort of just put in to make it look stock. So NOT the pocket/coin holder but basically something just fits in (so something like the pocket but without the POPUP function). Basically so it acts as a cover.

Anytbing like that? The pocket is $140 which is whatever but since I'm not really going to use it, I was wonderng if something like this exists.

Thanks

Well, there's absolutely no reason to remove factory navigation with an aftermarket radio. The JDM trim fits without modification with factory nav, and any small amount of searching by the installer on how to get it to fit with the metra trim kit would have turned up this video:

Thanks Wrathernaut!

Sorry the email was buried. Anyways, I showed the install the video (I have a Metra kit). He said its only possible and easy "because it was a single din in the video". I said that that is not true.

Any idea of what you think I should do or what I could show him to convince him otherwise?

Thanks

Tell him to stop making amateurs show him how to do his job properly and show him these:

If he needs any more help, tell him I'll require a consulting fee.

Haha thanks Wrathernaut. I will definitely show him those. The guy is unbelievable. The double din (pioneer avic-8000nex) is sticking out a little too. He said "well I can't flush mount it because of space issues)". Okay then. Whatever

Anyways, this may be sort of related so I decided to ask this here so...

Do you think there's a chance that the installer messed up some wiring for the left headlight when he installed the car audio stuff?

I'm just not sure. I think i remember the headlights being fine when I took it out of the shop.

A day or two later, though, the left stopped working. The right headlight still works perfectly fine.

Basically, if I try to turn the headlights on, the left headlight will quickly flicker a little in a barely noticeable way (it has to be dark) for lik a half second and just turn right off. The right headlight works perfectly fine.

In your experience, is this something he (an obviously inexperienced installer) could've messed up?

Thanks again Wrathernaut I really appreciate all the help you're giving me! Seriously

Yeah, there's quite a lot of room back there, while I don't have the dimensions handy to outright refute his claim, his credibility is already low enough I'm not going to bother.

I suppose it's possible, but he'd have to be messing around way outside of the normal wiring areas to do that.
