Sound Quality issues with Carputer

I need your help. I am using SB 2. I have gotten it to go from my computer through a PAC AANIS modulator, to my bose head unit. I have a G35 sedan. The modulator plugs into my SAT radio button. I had to forfeit sat radio to do this. I get sound, but it is terrible. It garbly and has tremendous interference. Are there any suggestions to fix this problem.

I have run everything down the middle of the car. I have a single jack coming out of my sound card that then splits into two rca's that then goes into the modulator. There are no power lines crossing over any wires. Could someone please give me some suggestions.
Thanks!

How are you powering the computer? If your using an inverter, thats probably the major source of your problem. You'll find alot more answers to the question though on mp3car.com.

God of CPU, thank you for your reply. I am using your screen housing templates. They worked great! The screen retracts perfectly. I did my first test run on the computer today. I simply hooked up to an extension cord and plugged it into the wall. Do you think this could be the reason? Thanks for your help.

There may not be that many people that are knowledgable with your problem. I know a bit about car audio, home audio and computers. But I've never done a computer install in the car.

sound through car pc

I use a carputer also. I hooked up the on-board AC97 audio to SAT1 and a PCI card-based m-Audio 2496 audiophile card to SAT2. I have never had sound issues other than some cross-talk at high volumes between SAT1 and SAT2 (if both are playing obviously). Not sure whether this is occurring in the PC or the PAC unit. I also have god_of_Cpu's screen (which is awesome, btw), and I did have some visual interference from the pc (hard drive, wireless internet etc) going to the backlight through the power line. (I tested by plugging the car pc into AC power and all noise was gone. So I got two inexpensive power line noise filters from Crutchfield and it's gone! (One for the battery power, one for the "remote" power line). I use the OPUS 150W DC-DC power supply.

BTW, I have 2 sound cards so I can get digital Sat radio via TimeTrax into the PC - you do NOT have to give up satellite radio if you have a car pc. For less than 1/2 the price of a sat tuner, you can get TimeTrax and RECORD any song you want with the touch of a button. IT TOTALLY ROCKS. Best feature that I am so addicted to.

Filter sound like a best bet. One thing I noticed when installing my carputer was down the middle path had the airbag controller under the armrest.....could be a possible source of interference.
Other possibility is the proximity of the pc or wires to/from it being to close to a magnet like a speaker.
Just my $0.02

Almost forgot......#1 cause I have ran into is.......cheap rca cables or even expensive ones that when ran through tight spaces and twisted....can contact outer and inner leads inside the actual rca barrel connecter.
