Recommend 10 sub for Z enclosure

I have an Alpine 10 inch (S type) SWS-10D4 sub, connected to a JL JX500 mono D class amp.. The speaker last only for 2.5 years 3 at the most and all of a sudden it recently stopped producing sound. I'm looking to get another one, but I want to go with a better sub of any kind of brand.. Any recommendations would be very helpful. I want to stay under the $150 range

It's hard to argue against the reddit carav group's "approved gear" list:

In the $150 range, I'd say go with the Type-R.

Is the R type must better than the S type? The current S type 10 inch only last me for about 2.5 years. I need something to last longer than that

I run the Polk audio mm6501 components with 2 8 inch Polk audio db subs and they are great.

Check out the NVX VC series 10. I know a lot of people havn't heard of NVX before, and some have even called them crap simply because they've never ran them, but these are actually pretty built and really good for the price. I ran a couple of their 15's (VCW154) in a 5 cu ft box in my last rig. Stupid loud for $250 subs. I didn't even have an amp big enough for them and I was almost hitting 150 db.
Here's a link for the 10" version

Here's what I ran. They are pretty damn good looking subs. I even put one in my 04 Coupe
(I run them inverted to save free air resonance and to save box space. When tuning you have to accommodate for the sub magnet, plus they look BA, and I still get a ****-ton of what little trunk space we have.

Well, the enclosure is called Z. I don't know if the name has anything to do with the actual Z car.

This seems like a pretty decent speaker. Any thoughts on this one?

I've got an older punch P3 in my wife's car. Very good price/performance. I'd say not quite as good as a 10w6 v3, but at the price, you can't complain.

You need to be careful when using zen enclosures, well any prebuilt ones at that. I bought the two ten inch enclosure for my car. I was not to keen on a single space for both subs but at the time I do not have the ability to build my own box.The shared space was going to be quite a bit smaller than what the subs called for and figured it still might be enough. Needless to say I was not getting much sound out of them and decided to take advantage of the single space. So I mounted them in a isobaric load which actually made the space in the box a tad bit larger than spec with that type of load but it worked out well.

I am thinking of ditching this setup for a ib setup or isobaric ib setup. I have not decided yet on what I will do. I still need to sound proof the car and look into replacing the oem drivers in the rest of the car. Plus pull the rest of the carpet and stuff out of the trunk to see what exactly can fit behind the seat panel. I am thinking 12's might be pushing it.

Subs are Infinity 1062's off a Brutus BRX1100.1D amp.

One is more than enough for the size of the car

Yea, I'm only using one 10 inch sub.. I'm not trying to rock the world or the car next to me.. I'm just looking for a lil sound to feel the bass in the car
