Head Unit Replacement

Hello all. First post, new G35 driver, and new member. I recently bought my bros 03' G35, which is very clean. After tinkering and cleaning it over the past few weeks, I now want to upgrade a few things. 1 being the head unit and possibly speakers.

I am an Apple user, so I have decided to go with the Pioneer AVIC-5100NEX for CarPlay, bluetooth, steering wheel controls, and rear view camera addition.

The current head unit CD player gets ERR message or else I would prob hang onto it, but can't listen to any CDs and the radio reception sucks.

I have the Metra dash kit for the head unit, but was wondering if I should also upgrade all of the speakers? I have the back deck off now and the 6x9s look pretty old and beat up(paper cones) and 1 makes a scratchy noise when I gently press it down (blown?)

Thoughts?

Thanks!

I upgraded from the pioneer x940 bt to the Nex 8100

Upgrade the component speakers and tweeters and get a separate sub to power those

Also do the rear deck speakers

I went with Rockford Fosgate also I have one jl audio sub in the rear

If you decide to go with a sub take out the speakers in the rear deck.. You dont need them, sounds better without..

What if i replaced all of the speakers and a went with a 3 way 6x9 for rear deck. Do I need an amp to power anything?

If i am way off can someone please explain what I need to do in particular, once I change the head unit.

So, I change the head unit and now what? No speakers changed yet
