Question Stock or aftermarket Nav?

Forgive me if this has been answered somewhere... I looked but could not find it, so here goes:

The stock Navigation unit provides other vehicle status functions. Would these be available with an aftermarket unit?
Also, the stock unit costs $2k. Can I get as much, or more functionality from an aftermarket unit?
It's not the $2k price tag I am worried about, it is a matter of getting a G35x now, or having to special order one! I would like the vehicle stats, so if that is a no-go through aftermarket, I will just hang tight and special order.
Any thoughts on pros or cons for stock vs. aftermarket?

Thank you!

Me too. I like the clean look with all the controls in the dash too. Used to be when stock products weren't anything special, but they have sure improved over the last 10 years! It's to the point that stock stereo, stock rims, etc. are actually worth keeping IMHO!
