ASWC-1 seek down = seek up

Followed wrathernaut's guide for installing my 4200NEX in my Bose '06 coupe w/bluetooth.
However, no matter what i do, I can't get the seek down on the ASWC-1 to work.

Ran through the auto setup, vol up/down works, seek up and mode buttons work. However, when i hit seek down, it performs the same function as seek up. Even holding it down performs the same as seek up being held (station increments, track increments, etc). According to the android app, seek down is mapped to seek down, but i just can't get it to fire correctly.

Any ideas? I'm stumped here and have reset the AWSC multiple times.

Maybe it's the radio itself that's not reading it right?

Or it could be a faulty ASWC.

Some basic troubleshooting steps to try - if you remap the steering wheel SEEK UP to MUTE with the ASWC app, does the steering wheel SEEK DOWN also MUTE, or does it continue to SEEK UP? And does the POWER button work as mapped?

Good thoughts. I've got to pull it again this afternoon to plug in some accessories, i'll give it a look. Thanks!

Side question for you though. In another thread, you main mention of being able to tap the illumination from a blue/yellow wire behind the temp display. For the life of me I can't find it physically or in a wiring diagram. Other thought i had was there's a 2 wire brown connector to the auto stick that appears to be for illumination. You aware of anyone tapping off that?

Opened it back up. Few more resets did the trick on the aswc. No clue how, but the buttons are all mappable.

Just can't get the head unit to recognize ptt, on/off hook now EDIT: Called metra tech support and they told me that the PTT on/off hook commands are lost with install. That doesn't seem right. Anyone else have this same combo working? With ios/siri?

as as far as the illumination goes, the blue/red wire leading to the AT stick is illumination and works perfectly!

FWIW, the ASWC-1 DOES work with Siri. You must assign a button the PTT command on a short press, and no function for long press. Then just hold down your PTT button a few seconds, like you would on your phone's home key (in Siri's/Apple's case).

Did you ever get the PTT steering wheel button to work? I've got the same car, same deck, same problem.

Sorry, I'm android. I'll try that and see if it works.
