I Need To Know: Are All Coupes Prewired For Navigation???

I want to swap out my non-navigation upper center console with my friend that doesn't like the way the screen is so high and would rather not use it. The thing is... He won't start dismantling his dash and glove compartment unless he knows that it will be an easy swap. So what I need to know is if my car is prewired for navigation and if not are there wires I could use in-order to install this and have it operational? Also are there any special brackets that I will need to get from him for the DVD player to fit in the glove box? PLEASE HELP as I really want to complete this trade and best of all he is not charging me anything!!!

its definitely not an easy swap... you could probably bring it into the dealer to have them do it but you'll be paying $$$... although cheaper than buying it... you must have a great friend to just give you essentially $2000 worth of equipment lol...

The wiring harness for the NAV system is only in NAV enabled cars, is a huge wire and costs ~$1600 from the dealer.

Nope, the Bose system has a amplifier in the trunk, and the non-Bose does not.

You might want to try to just talk your buddy in to swapping cars. It would be easier, and cheaper...

I don't understand how he would do the swap for free regardless of install or not. He paid $2,000 extra for his G to come with NAV...

I have a G35 coupe without navi and I was wondering if I could put an after market navi in my car? Maybe, another Birdview Navi...

Any suggestions?...thanks

Ok well I talked to this guy who had stripped his car and he said that there is a harness that pretty much only goes between the center console w/screen and the DVD player in the glove box. Worst case senario... If I cant get my friend to rip it out of his car I have someone willing to sell this navi harness to me for $175. What I don't know is if this separate harness is just left out on the non-nav cars. So is the main harness the same for both, prewired with a plug for the navi harness? If so I will can just get the navi harness and plug it in to the main dash harness and go from there, right?
