2005 G35 Sedan Bose Rear Speakers and Sub not working

Hello
Starting last week I noticed my stock Bose system has been a little different, and today I found out that my rear speakers and sub are not working. I checked by changing the fader to rear and no sound is coming out. My front speakers are working fine.
Also at startup I would get loud static followed by a feint pop coming from the trunk. This would only last a couple seconds then only my front speakers would play.
Has anybody had this issue with their stock system? I'm not very tech savvy so I'm not even sure where to start.

A technician at an audio shop told me the Bose system for Gs are notorious for going out and the problem is likely to be the head unit or amp.
My confusion is that if either is out, why would only my rear speakers/sub not work?
If the amp is bad, it shouldn't be able to power anything right? and if the head unit is bad, it wouldn't be able to play anything right?

Amp channels can go out independent of each other.

Most likely the amp.

How many channels does the stock amp have, and are the rear speakers and sub on the same channel?

Thank you

The factory amp for sedan is 5 channels, the rear sub is on its own channel from the amp, but shares one of the full-range channels from the headunit.
