Steering Wheel Volume Control

2006 G35X Sedan running an aftermarket DD head unit. For the first 3-4 years after install the volume/track control on my steering wheel worked without issue, however as of about 6-8 months ago it only worked intermittently, now doesn't work at all. Right side of wheel cruise controls work without issue.

Anyone experience this? Not sure if faulty fuse or wire is to blame, and I'm hoping if it is wiring that I do not have to take out the entire stereo to replace the harness entirely. Let me know your thoughts.

My guess is it's probably the steering wheel control interface (SWCI) went out, it's usually an adapter that plugs into the stereo.
