Fried Yaw Sensor Power Wire

Hey so I was trying to splice in a on off switch to the power wire on my yaw sensor to disable vdc completely and had the battery disconnected until i had everything wired up and couldnt get the circuit to close again. I pulled it back apart and now cant find power from the power wire. I guess its fried but i dont know how since i had battery disconnected. Can anyone help me find a nearby 12v constant power source to run another wire from to get power to it again ? Or any other suggestions ? Thanks !

Did you check fuses in the IPDM, I think that's where it pulls power from.

And this is why you pull the battery when doing electrical work.... not that I did when I put in my switch lol

Hah yeah, I've never done hot work on cars before...

Definitely something you should try to always do though.

thanks a lot i will check those fuses tomorrow morning hopefully thats what happened it would save some headaches. But if not, i saw another thread talking about splicing a wire into the constant 12v from the ignition cylinder and a youtube video saying he did the same thing and ran a wire from the obd2 port constant power i guess ill try that if its not a fuse. Thanks alot for your help though i will post how it goes tomorrow wish me luck!

I can pretty much guarantee it's one of the fuses so I wouldn't worry about plan B until you check them.

Keep in mind d though if it is the fuse it blew for a reason, usually a shorted circuit.

Yeah your switch could have an issue. I've Been running my VDC switch for 15k Miles with no issue now . Obviously it's on more than it's off.

Nope those were from my 2006 because you didn't specify a year.

You can find yours in the FSMs which are online here.

So all fuses are okay, and ive just been looking through the manual to try and figure out whats going on. It looks like the yaw sensor gets power from the vdc/tcs/abs control unit. Would there be a fuse between there and the sensor or should i test the terminal on the control unit that goes to the sensor? Im not sure what to do here id like to get it working rather than stealing power from another source.

Ok after checking that schematic I see those wires are all communications between the TCM and the yaw sensor, you shouldn't be reading battery voltage between those it's more likely just a scaling resistance change. What EXACTLY is the problem you're having now? The VDC light won't turn off or something? If you want to verify the wires are intact from point A to B then unplug the TCM and yaw harnesses and check for continuity between the 6 different wires, they're matched color for color on each end which is easy or you can reference this chart I suppose.
