Fried Yaw Sensor Power Wire
#33
Woow so i figured it out and made the switch work with power from the obd port. Basically my switch has 3 prongs. One power one acc and one ground. I had the orange wire going through power and ground and my ground for the light on the acc prong so basically it was letting too much current flow and blowing the fuse. Switched the orange wire onto the power and acc prongs and my ground onto the ground prong and everything works no blowing fuses. Smh lol thanks so much for all the help though everyone

Hello all. I too had this problem with my 05 model. During testing, I fried the orange wire (or fuse which I have yet to find, but your info is promising). Here is what I did to repair mine: I ended up tapping into my heated seats 12v supply (dark green wire with red tracer--there are two of them) and the system works flawlessly. The downside to this mod, as previously mentioned, is that once activated, it stays in the disabled mode until the ignition switch has been reset (off and back on), but functionality is consistent and predictable, which is all I wanted. I am also using a 7.5 amp fuse, tapped into a clever little stand-alone protected fuse block I picked up at the local APS for 10 bucks, that tucks neatly into the recess under the ash tray. I ended up with a reliable, tidy installation. For those of you who are considering the YAW disable mod, I still recommend an in-line fuse, to prevent frying the power supply to the yaw in the first place, but the green wires with red tracers from the heated seats are right in the vicinity of the original YAW Power supply, so fishing wires through the interior is not necessary if you do as I did, and destroy the original power feed.
