Homemade Fix for Audio Finisher Circuit Board?
This is for my HVAC controls going out (stuck on 75) and Radio going dead. The well document Dreaded... has happened to me. I thought I was a schematic with the fix, where you just needed to solder two spots on the board. Does anyone know if that exists here or another board?

In most cases it's the radio that has gone bad, sometimes it's the board itself or it can be both. Even the techs have a problem pin pointing the actual problem so they always recommend to replace both.
That's when most forum members will spend the money for the JDM DD Kit and get an aftermarket radio so they wont have that problem again.

So even thoght the HVAC controls go dead, teh radio itself can be bad? God this sux. I know my car is 9 years old but 6 mos of no radio is driving me insane. I assume the lowest cost fix is close to down payment money on a new car..
If you know of a radio shop in the northeast that can handle this please advise!!

Looks like you're in the market for an aftermarket HU. Check out Wrathernaut's Double Din Shopping and Resource List. You'll be able to get something exceptionally satisfying if you can budget around $600 for the replacement.

I changed to a double Din kit and my cd problem is fixed now but my steering wheel conrols still won't work volume or track but when I turn the wheel 90 degrees it works. The cruise button still works. The mechanic said there is something still wrong with the circuit board still, the dealer I bought it from said he's gonna open it up and check it. Will update if I find a fix.

Steering Wheel
First question: are you using an AXXESS or similar style steering wheel controller? If not that's your problem.
If you are then it sounds like it may be the ribbon looking cable that wraps around your steering wheel. Sometimes the wires become pinched which may be causing your issue. The tough part about fixing it is that you have to remove the airbag to get to the cable. The cable itself isn't terribly expensive just a PITA to replace.

Well I came out to my car being dead, had a coworker jump me and when I got it in I had noticed my ac was cranked up to max at 75 and the radio was off and no controls work. Guessing from what I read that its the radio or circuit board.
If I get a JDM DD kit and an aftermarket radio, will this repair my problem? I don't see myself willing to spend the $1500+ to have the dealer fix it. I'd rather use that as a down and trade my G in. Just curious. Thanks for any help.
