tvandnav2go power

i am new to audio/video and was wondering how exactly do i tap the power from the back of the cig lighter. i have the tvandnav2go pnp unit which has two black wires for the power. i have an 04 coupe. any help would be appreciated!

don't tap into the cig lighter...it would be better for you to buy the add-a-circuit and just connect it to your fuse box under a seperate fuse (you may have to solder an extension to your power wire so you can run it to your fuse box. The ground wire you could just connect to the metal frame around the radio housing...

whats the downside to tapping into the cig lighter circuit?
