Dash Cams
Dash Cams
Hey everyone,
I am looking to buy a dash cam soon and would like your opinion. I am currently look at the Blackvue DR590-2ch for it's parking mode feature. It's at a really good price point, but can only record in 1080p. Is it worth it to save up more money and get a 4k dash cam?

One of the things that I notice is when a vehicle behind me is tailgating too close and they see the rear camera they back off.
Telcoman
Sony optics with a 2.8um pixel size, looks like a pretty solid item with clear imaging on a chip manufactured by an industry leader.
EDIT: raw resolution is good and important but the PIXEL SIZE is equally important, I haven't looked up spec on any of the 4k sensors but I imagine the pixel size is substantially lower and they probably use 4k checkerboard. Typically what you will gain with the 4k units is higher FRAMERATE (single camera) which allows for a much smoother image at the cost of a shorter runtime file due to the extra storage requirements for, dual front/rear allows full 1080p on both cameras but you're going to pay a serious premium for anything higher than 30fps chips right now because that will be cutting edge new technology.

I'm still looking but I will probably start looking for a 1080p or maybe even a 1440p if I can find one. I hope to find one with 2ch and a parking mode.
