Problems with CD player

My CD player in my '03 G35 Coupe has trouble reading discs in cold weather before the engine is warm. I have never experienced a problem like this in any car. Is this normal? Is anyone else experiencing this? Is there anything I can do to prevent it?

One other thing:

Sometimes when I press the steering wheel control lever to advance to the next track (or the next programmed station when listening to the radio), the volume actually increases. I know I am pressing the correct button. If I release the button and press it again, it usually corrects itself. It's as if the buttons are getting mixed up somehow.

Other than that, I've loved the car for the 22 months that I've had it.

i have the same kind of problem, my cd player won't read any disc in the 3rd CD place.

my friend told me that the electronical parts of nissan cars are malfunctioning ever since the nissan cars started being manufactured here in the states. Something like that? I'm not sure if thats what he was said, I wasn't paying attention.

We will occasionally see this complaint at my dealership, the issue is isually that the laser lens has condenstion on it, and can't read the disc until the interior warms up enough to clear it. If this only happens on cold days when the car has been sitting awhile, there is no problem or fix for it.

Yea, that is a PROBLEM. I hate it when dealerships try to pawn it off as normal. It's not condensation on the lens, it's poorly choosen material for the rubber stabilizers. The cold makes the rubber shrink and causes a wabble in the cd. If it was normal then you'd have the same issue with a good after market deck, but that doesn't happen. Just shoddy craftmenship on the part of Nissan. I never bothered bringing my car in for the steering wheel control, but I have the same issue. Again, poor craftmanship and testing on the part of Nissan.

Actually, it's not just Nissan. It's Nissan, Clarion and Bose. Clarion made the deck for Bose (Bose doesn't make car audio HUs) and bose desinged the system for Nissan. All three of them should have tested this system out much more extensivley then they did... it's riddled with issues.

Thanks for the replies.

Again, I'm ecstatic about the car, but these are the only nagging problems I have. Also, the steering wheel wrapping has some abnormal wear.

Fantastic car.

I have the same thing and have had my deck replaced once and it is doing it again so back to the dealership it goes. They called and said that they can't get it to do the problem I told them to replace the radio again you shouldn't have a problem with the radio at all.
