2007 G35 Journey play music from phone

Have the basic Bose stereo with aux RCA input. Wondering the best way to play music/youtube clips (audio only) from my phone through the stereo. A couple years ago i tried connecting via headphone jack to audio rca, but i seem to recall the sound quality was not good/very low volume. Has anyone tried this? What do you use?

Your RCA inputs are definitely the way to go for the best sound. If you have an iPhone you can get a Lightning to RCA cable. Android would be a different cable, or simply 1/8" headphone to RCA cable. I think with any of these options you will want to turn up the volume on the phone so your Bose system sees enough input level. Aux input should be about as the same volume as your Radio when switching between them. The only downside is that if you want to charge your device at the same time you'll need to get another adaptor or two.

Thanks, but as mentioned the headphone to rca solution has already been tried and did not work. Sound level/quality very poor.

I went on Amazon and ordered this:
Amazon Amazon

For around $20 bucks after coupon it was worth the gamble. Reviews looks very positive as well. I will report back once tested.

Doesnt this also use the RCA inputs on the stereo? Its probably gonna sound the same as before.

I don't think the RCA input is the issue, it's the power amplication level (or lack therof) provided by the phone via headphone jack.

Your Bose head unit is looking for a line level input at the RCA jacks. Your phone is capable of sending that kind of level out of the headphone jack but the volume needs to be cranked (on the phone).

Let us know how that Bluetooth adaptor works out.

For anyone looking to have seamless blutooth integration for their old factory system this little unit is a must. Worked flawlessly first try. Sound output is PLENTY loud and clear, even at 50% volume on the phone. If you have a quality mount for a phone or even a tablet, this is like having android auto running in your car. Wish I'd known about this years ago!

Just charge it up and pair it to your phone. The unit connects to the rca inputs in the center console.
