MP3 in the G35

Hey guys,
Im sure some of you have seen the work we have done in regards to the omnifi mp3 controller in the cubbyhole cover. We are charging $500.00 for an exact replica of what we did here. This includes the labor involved in molding, fiberglassing, painting and return shipping to the customer. We charge $85 an hr and am only billing for 4 hrs work vs the 6-7.5hrs it really takes to complete the job from start to sending the unit off to the paint shop. Paint costs about $80 or so, and shipping is a flat rate of $40.

Now what i want to know is, are we charging too much? If so how much would you pay to have something like this or simular done? All comments are welcome.

IMHO, $500 is way to much. I showed a guy a picture here at Custom Sounds, and he said it would only cost $200.

ouch!!!! does that $500 include the mp3 player too? cuz that seems a bit high to just attach the mp3 player controller onto the cubby hole door.

Looks great.

Whatever you do use a pricepoint. $249. $299. $349.

I think we're gravitating towards more of the $299 price point if we decide to go into mass production of these units. You're right, $500 is way too high. That price was based upon the amount of hours spent at $85 an hr. obviously that can not be used to determine mass production pricing. Thanks for the feedback guys. PM me or post if you have any other comments.
