How to see IPOD songs on OEM radio? UPDATE????

Can this be done? I mean, hook up the IPOD and be able to see the songs playing on the OEM Bose radio screen? Also, has anyone mastered the use of the steering wheel controls for the IPOD yet?
This would be really cool.

Added 3/31/05 - I found a website that has units similar to the PAC AAI units called PIE or something that hook up to factory stereos that have a CD changer input through a 16 pin connection. Since our SAT input is a 10 pin (I think) this won't work. But, what if, what if there is somehow to either adapt the 16 connector to a 10 pin. OR, is there a 16 pin connector on the rear of the OEM stereo for the worthless tape player? Aparently these new units will work with cars as old as 1995 Fords, so I find it hard to belive that someone can't make it work on my 04 Coupe.

Not yet ! We are all waiting for a solution like this. IceLink (which I am a dealer for) has units for every other vehicle, except Infiniti/Nissan. That to me, is the most OEM oriented solution for iPod. You can see the units at www.dension.com.

I haven't seen any other product like that, which works with our cars. Anyone else ??

No other products do this, I-Cruze comes with an optional screen which you can get molded into your navi cubby cover. Personally I think I'm going to spend the extra money to purchase a phatbox.

I think I am going to mount my IPOD in the cubby box where the NAV would be if I had it. I am going to run all of the wires to the cubby and install a new cig. lighter outlet for the power to the IPOD and drill holes for the rest of the wires. Then I was thinking I could mount a bracket in the cubby to hold the IPOD and be able to view the screen. I would be able to dismount the IPOD for navagating through the menus and then store all accessories and cables in the cubby with the lid down so you can't tell its even there.
I will post when the project is underway and get some pics out of it as well. Wish me luck.

Does anyone know if you can use the aux input for an iPod if you already have the factory satellite system? I would love to be able to switch between them easily.

Actually, a user on here did figure out a swithcing method - but I dont know if anyone else had the guts to try it out. It involved some handiwork - including the modification of the factory harnesses... Too much for me - but maybe someone else knows ??

Search for posts by djrobx and then see http://www.tvrules.net/misc/satpb/satpb.htm and also http://www.nissanmurano.org/forums/s...?threadid=2536

I did it, following djrobx instructions but without cutting and instead of switch I am using carputer COM port (see http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/show...hlight=ampctrl). However, I wasn’t able to obtain SAT pass-through connector so for now I just taped pins together. For unbalanced to balanced conversion I bought $50 CleanBox from swee****er.com.
