Great job there!! How long did it take you to install and how much did it actually cost you to get all the parts? Again, great job!

- Don't argue with idiots. They will bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.=P-

Sweet setup! How’s the picture quality and does the screen maintain the aspect ratio of the movie being played.

Re: Installed DVD player for NAVI

Total cost was a little over 400 bucks, took me 3days, and Quality is Great aspect ratio is now fixed, in the first pic you see it looks like there is a bar on top and bottom but after messing with the settings i got it to keep 16:9 ratio to fill up the screen on 16:9 DVDs The mod is money well spent

Hey Nice Mod CoolCatGee

I am planning to do it soon too... but have to run into any problems during the installation...

I am thinking of waiting for Video-Nav.com to come out with the mod box...

Saw your instrument cluster (spedometer, gas gauge, etc) - how'd you get the white gauge cluster?? Is that standard for the coupe?

Re: Installed DVD player for NAVI

so that uses the existing NAV screen? i don't have the NAV pkg, but was thinking of putting in DVD player & LCD... does anyone know of an LCD screen that fits that spot, where the NAV screen goes? i don't want to cut/modify the console.

just a thought.

Re: Installed DVD player for NAVI

Go on Ebay and do a search for LCD under Car Audio & Electronics section... you will find quite a bit of LCD, one member has a 7" LCD in the stock NAV Screen location

One of the seller has a G35 Coupe with an aftermarket screen

Re: Installed DVD player for NAVI

i did some searching, is that space sized for a 6.5" inch LCD? that looks like the stock LCD size. so if i am going to add a LCD screen, any 6.5" should fit...errr.. maybe?

Re: Installed DVD player for NAVI

Well there is a guy that installed a computer in his car, and hes using a mounted screen, but then there is another guy on this forum that is using a flip out screen, it really doesnt matter what brand you get becasue they are all one din, but it would require some cutting and custom fabrication, look on ebay, last years Panasonic flip out screen will match a titanium counsel perfectly and you could get one for about 900 bucks, and then you wouldnt need to do the mod becuase its a stand alon DVD play with RCA inputs, so you can add like a Reverse Video Camera later, hope that helps you out
