Question switched power source in coupe trunk?

Hello Fellas,

I have been using the remote lead going into the Bose AMP, but is there a switched power source that can drive an amp or two of 12v (maybe 30W max for some cooling fans)? Or is the remote lead good enough for that much current? Anyone know for sure?

Don't want to have to setup a relay if it's overkill...

Thanks in advance...

Typically a remote turn on lead should be assumed to be 100ma. Just enough to run a relay. I wouldn't try running fans off of any remote turn on lead personally... Go with the relay and be sure you are doing it right and not risking damage to your hu.

Listen to KP, switched power lines are not meant for powering high draw components
Use a relay that will trigger use of constant power

Relays are only a few bucks and take mere seconds to wire; just do it
