Might be getting an 03' Coupe :)
Hey guys, I'm looking into buying a new car at the moment. For a while I was hooked on a BMW 545i, but the maintenance and lack of 6-speeds on my side of the country had me bummed out. Then one day a buddy of mine switched to my shift at work and showed me his 07 5at coupe he had just bought. I instantly fell in love. That night I found this> http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-s...03073922&Log=0. I looked up the vin, and it's fully loaded for that year. For some reason the spoiler was removed though. The dealership also mentioned the sunroof doesnt slide, just lifts. no biggy. I'm going to check it out on Friday the 24'th. Anything I should look for? I know first year cars have their quirks, but I'm really hoping this one is the real deal. 2 owner, full service history. Autotrader says it has an LSD, but I have read on here 03's don't have one? Maybe it was put in later?
Anyway, Hope to see you guys on here after Friday with my new G35!

Congratulations, I'm sure you'll love the G and welcome to the forum. The search bar is your friend and will help you when you're looking for improvements to your car. The guys and gals here are extremely knowledgeable but, don't like redundant questions that the search bar can answer. The aftermarket world has everything to make your G standout and go faster. Enjoy your new ride.

Thanks though man! I'm sure I'll love it, if it's proper that is. I'm about 4.5 hours away from it, and there's only a couple other in that region, none of which have Brembo's, or an aftermarket stereo installed, so I'm crossing my fingers! I see air-ride in it's future...

Pics and info look good. I'm still a bit new to the G35, but basic things I would look for with a car over 10yrs and 100k miles are the normal wear-n-tear:
- Suspension bushings and control arms are known to wear out after 100k
- Dash cracking
- Paint chips (might not always show in pics). Check if that is the original paint
- Seat controls/motor may start to wear out/malfunction
These are probably minor. As long as your engine and transmission are in good condition (including the clutch), you're probably ok. Price is a bit high; I would bargain more closer to $11k. It is a 12yr old car afterall. Good luck.

welp, that car sucked *****. the locks didnt even work, and as such we accidently locked the keys in it with the engine on! lol. Plus the guy tried to tell me they didnt replace the trunk lid and the spoiler in the front seat (with aged clear coat) was aftermarket... what a JOKE! checked out a few more junker g35's (drifted a beat up one on a freeway entrance loop lol) and finally got a clean 04 6mt with everything but sport package. ended up payin 11800, which here was 800 over book, but I expected to pay 12 and I talked him down from $14k. yea, overbooked, but there are literally none that are clean for book value. almost everything here is a stupid auto. nobody can drive a stick anymore I guess. Already debadged the rear, dipped the grill (smoke film was peeling) and either a factory spoiler or complete audio overhaul is next. (no subs in trunk, but 2 JL W7 6.5's will replace the Bose 6x9's)
the rear looks naked. after I get a spoiler I'll decide whether I want the emblem back on or not.

only issues is the walmart tint, albeit applied well, is scratched off in a couple places, and looks like it's 45 or 55%. gunna go 35% up front, and 20 on the rest. and the pass door doesnt lock automatically. feels like the actuator lost it's power. is makes sound, but I feel nothing on the line. looks like the whole door is sealed, and the window regulator comes out with the center plate. bleh. Also, finally, the heater doesn't really work. Jiffy Lube replaced the radiator in March. I'm guessing they didnt bleed the system. If I'm idling, and rev, I can hear water rushing under my dash. nothing leaks. But absolutely zero warm air when idle. luke warm when accelerating/driving. Good thing the seat heaters work. cd player doesnt work at all, tape deck only plays right channel. am/fm works great. Going to get an AUX into the Sat input. everything else works fine. Rotors/pads suck though. my 08 Jeep Patriot stops better lol.
