Automatic Volume Control

Has anyone noticed any effect from the auto volume control?
I've tried all the settings (high, medium, low) and don't hear any difference.

The dealer tells me that it should adjust the volume level based on interior noise.

dealer is an idiot!!! that would mean we should have a mic in our cars, but we dont!

its hooked up to a speed sensor, which means at different speeds it increases based on your setting... set it to HIGH and youll notice a difference

It definitely does change with the setting and I agree that it's based on speed.

If you're talking about the Bose Audiopilot, yes there is a mic. I have a 350z and it is right below the steering wheel column. Here is some more information: http://www.bose.co.uk/product/auto/audio_pilot_tech.asp

Thanks for correcting us. I wish some of the expense for this feature would have put into better quality components though.

I notice it easily on high so I keep it on medium and its not noticeable unless you go from very high speed to slow quickly

that "Audiopilot" only comes on the 350Z, not the G35, but nice try!

Set it to "HIGH" while you are running 80mph +, BLARE your stereo, and then come to almost a stop or drop to 25mph or so. You'll hear the difference, Trust me!

You definately do not hear a difference on medium, which is where it is by default (if I remember correctly). You have to use high or it does almost nothing.

Damn there must be something wrong with the radios that are set to MED on the SVC control and you dont notice a difference. I have mine set @ MED and when I hit about 60mph, I can notice the difference. When I set it to HIGH I can REALLY notice the difference.
