After looking and looking and googling and googling...

There was no definitive measurements on the mounting depth dimensions for the 2005 sedan. After reading the DIY on door removal I decided to find out for myself, and share the results.

I took two measurements for the panel to glass depth. One from the outer panel to the glass (deepest measurement), and one from the outer panel to the window support (shallowest measurement).

The results are:

2 7/8" panel to glass
2 3/4" panel to support.

I also measured the factory spacer. It is 1 3/16".

So if we remove 1/8" for error/wiggle room I conclude that we could easily fit a speaker with a top mount depth of 3 13/16". Of course, I have yet to order my speakers, and test my measurement skills.
