FM problem with AVN2454

Ever since my trunk flush install, certain radio stations either stopped working or gets really bad signal. I know it's not a problem with the radio stations because they work from another car and in my house. It was working fine, so I don't know what could have happened. I thought maybe the installer didn't hook up the antenna securely, but I took apart my dash and confirmed that it was hooked up right. Do you think my antenna adapater could have gone bad? Seems unlikely, but I don't know why else it would just all of a sudden have problems unless there's a problem with the head unit itself.

Yeah, well what's strange is that it all worked perfectly with my aftermarket head unit until my installer hooked up the rest of my system. I too am now thinking about adding on a satellite radio, but I'm not sure what unit to buy for the AVN2454. The eclipse website shows a Sirius unit (SIR-ECL1) but shows only these model #'s: AVN5435, CD8455, CD8445, CD5435, CD5425, CD5415. I don't know if it works for mine or not.

Yes, JL 500.1 and JL 300.4 amps installed. The problem happened after these amps were installed. Have you heard of a problem with these amps?

It's very possible the amps are what induces noise on the antenna signal. It doesn't help that the antenna is part of the rear windshield either.

I too have a pair of amps, but mine are Alpines. As an FYI, my XM radio signal is crystal clear

Damn, the mp3 is already slow (reading files) when using the indash cd, so the cd changer is even slower than that? Or is it just as slow? I can live with it if it's the same slowness.

Why exactly would an amp cause problems with antenna signal? Do they emit radio frequencies that interfere? My amps are actually mounted underneath the windshield (on the back wall of the trunk) - so it's pretty close to the rear windshield antenna.

Yeah, I was wondering if the Eclipse CD Changer would be able to play MP3's just like the indash cd player. If it didn't, I wouldn't bother wasting my money on it since i could burn all 8 cd's on one mp3 disc.

If the cd changer just sends the signal to the head unit, I would think the headunit can translate the signal and read the mp3 format, but I'm not sure.
